Michelle Obama Attempts To Break Guinness World Record

Taken from here.

It would be an understatement to say that I love Michelle Obama. Regardless of how you feel about her husband and his performance in the Oval Office, you have to admit that the First Lady has done more for the health of our nation’s youth than any of her predecessors. And today that trend continues as she heads to the South Lawn of the White House in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record.

As part of her “Let’s Move” campaign, Obama will be joined by thousands of kids locally and around the world as they try to break the world record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. That means more than 20,425 people must join in and do jumping jacks for one minute nonstop starting at 3pm EST today–and not everyone needs to be in Washington, D.C. for the event. Official rules can be found here.

We applaud Obama in all of her healthy initiatives to fight childhood obesity–a number that has tripled in the past 30 years with our youth, leaving more than one-third of our kids as overweight or obese today. It’s refreshing to see a First Lady make health a priority and wanting to teach kids better than we were taught. Plus, her buff arms still rock a sleeveless dress like no one else in politics.
