5 Ways to Stay Productive When You’re Home Sick
1.) Rest. This may seem counter productive, but trying to do too much when you’re ailing is a recipe for more sick days. To cut back on time out of the office, do make sure to take it easy and get some extra sleep while you’re at home.
3.) Attend to the details. While you’re at home, try to get a few little things around the house done, too. By starting a load of dishes, putting a few bills in the mail, or tidying up some of the areas that tend to attract clutter, your home will feel less like a cave of disease, and more like a nice place to be while you recuperate.
4.) Stay in touch. Depending on what kind of work you do, being completely incommunicado when you’re sick can mean tasks and notes are piling up while you’re away–which is a stressful thought. Check your email once or twice throughout your sick day (but not constantly), just to afford yourself the peace of mind that comes with knowing you’re not missing anything between naps.5.) Move around. If you’re really, really sick, this isn’t a great idea. But if you’re feeling up to it, getting up and out can help get your blood circulating and give you a new burst of energy. And with the jolt that fresh, fall air will give you, you’ll be able to at least tolerate that over-the-phone meeting you scheduled.
